How this website handles personal information.
Contacting the club
When you contact East London Surf Lifesaving Club, share only the information needed to answer your enquiry. Please do not include identity documents, medical information or children’s personal details in a general enquiry.
The enquiry form uses the club’s hosting account to send your message by email to the club secretary. It is enabled only after email delivery has been configured and tested. Your name, email address, subject and message are used to respond to your enquiry. The website does not save a database of enquiries; the club receives them in its mailbox.
Membership documents
Downloaded membership documents may request identification and health information. Submit completed documents only through the process confirmed by the club, rather than the general contact form.
Other websites
Facebook, Instagram, Google Maps and other external destinations have their own privacy policies. Most external services are linked rather than embedded. The homepage beach camera uses an embedded YouTube player only when you choose to open it.
Homepage weather, tides and camera
The homepage requests forecast data from Open-Meteo for the fixed location of Nahoon Beach. Opening the tide panel requests predictions from Open Waters for the nearby East London station. These requests share your IP address and standard connection information with the respective provider; we do not request your device location. Read Open-Meteo’s privacy information. Readings are kept only in page memory, with no weather or tide cookies or browser storage. Opening the camera panel loads a YouTube privacy-enhanced embedded player. YouTube receives your connection information and may use cookies or storage during playback under its own privacy policy. Closing the panel removes the player. Read Open Waters’ privacy information and Google/YouTube’s privacy policy.
Cookies and storage
This website does not use advertising cookies or analytics, and does not save form entries in browser storage. Dismissing a site notice saves its content in session storage for this browser tab, so it stays dismissed while you browse. A changed notice appears again; the dismissal ends when the tab session ends. When the contact handler is enabled, it uses a necessary session cookie to protect against forged or duplicate submissions. The hosting provider may retain standard access logs.
