Train & learn
Build fitness, ocean confidence and practical rescue skills through lifeguard training.
Train together. Compete together. Give back together. The next step in your lifesaving journey starts on Nahoon Beach.
Our Juniors and Seniors are social groups who often train together and compete in mixed teams at Eastern Cape Championships and Nationals.
Juniors progress through the under-15 to under-19 age groups before moving into the senior open category.
Members complete lifesaving courses to attain their Junior Lifeguard Award (JLA) or Senior Lifeguard Award (SLA). Training covers first aid, CPR, rescue skills and the responsibilities of a lifeguard, with senior training building on these foundations.
After qualifying, members undertake voluntary duty at Nahoon Beach. Duty hours support eligibility for competitions and, most importantly, provide an opportunity to give back to our community while gaining experience and making lifelong friends.
